On Solid Ground After Years Of Hustling
👋🏻 Hi friends,
It has been a while. I have been busy writing, building, creating, and closing deals. Yes, things have been quite good in my solo writing business, and I have no complaints.
After years of grinding, hustling, learning, and making mistakes (tons of them), I finally feel that I'm on very solid ground.
Ghostwriting remains my main source of income, with memoir ghostwriting taking the biggest share.
I'm currently working on two memoirs, both of amazing women from the Middle East, and I couldn't be more excited to bring their inspiring stories to life.
By the way, I'm running a live cohort on Maven on how to make income from ghostwriting, and if live cohorts are not your thing, you can always grab this mini self-led course on ghostwriting.
In other news, I have been writing for a local magazine called Bethesda Magazine, and I couldn't be happier to be part of their pool of contributors. I get to interview local industry and community leaders, businesses, and trailblazers. What this new gig has taught me is that there are many opportunities in your own city and community; just open your eyes and network in your own backyard.
My podcast Read and Write with Natasha continues to grow and gather attention, and I'm also expanding and running podcast coaching. Hit me up if you are interested.
Monetizing the podcast, though, still remains a challenge. So, if you enjoy my podcast, please consider supporting it. I will be forever grateful.
Overall, I finally feel like things are falling into place.
I'm not trying to flex here but to inspire.
Keep the spark!
Best,
Natasha Tynes

✍🏻 Content Creation
In the past few weeks, I have published several pieces of content; here are some highlights:
- Book review: I published a review of the novel Yassini Girls by Shereen Malherbe on the Markaz review. You can read my review "Yassini Girls—a Powerful Yet Flawed Account of Historical Trauma" here.
- Subtack: I published a new piece on Substack about a very inspiring author in his 80s who puts all of us to shame. You can read my piece here: "This 89-year-old author has a 10-year plan" here.

🤯 This Wowed Me
- 📕 Book: I loved, loved Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino! This imaginative coming-of-age novel follows Adina, a girl who believes she’s an alien sent to observe Earth, blending humor, heart, and a deep exploration of belonging.
- 🧵 Thread: I was recently introduced to creator Billy Oppenheimer, who is the research assistant to author Ryan Holiday, and I have been loving his content. Check out his thread below about the "Initial agitation" you experience when you sit down to start a task.
- 🎧 Audiobook: I'm currently listening to Outlive by Dr. Peter Attia, a fascinating audiobook on longevity. Attia explores how to prevent chronic diseases and improve health through nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being, offering a fresh approach to living longer and better.

❝ ❞ Quote: “That's what I love about reading: one tiny thing will interest you in a book, and that tiny thing will lead you to another book, and another bit there will lead you onto a third book.
It's geometrically progressive - all with no end in sight, and for no other reason than sheer enjoyment.”
― Mary Ann Shaffer, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
- 🎥 YouTube: I enjoyed this humorous and insightful ranking of popular BookTok books by my favorite booktuber Jack Edwards. In this video, Jack explores the merits and flaws of BookTok books while reflecting on TikTok's brief ban and its impact on the reading community.
